Diversity initiatives are goals devised to measure acceptance of minorities by embracing cultural differences within the workplace. Diversity initiatives are twofold: valuing diversity and managing diversity. The value of diversity is achieved through awareness, education and positive recognition of cultural differences within the workplace. The management of diversity expounds upon the experience and establishes the business case for diversity that is closely aligned with an employer's organizational goals.

Statement of Solidarity

The senseless, tragic murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and so many other black and brown Americans at the hands of law enforcement has sparked a wave of public condemnation and outcry on our Campus, in our Community, and throughout the United States. As we seek to understand systemic racism and the violence being perpetrated on people of color, the UCSB community is grieving together. Here are resources that have been created on our Campus, and throughout the UC Community, that may help you cope, spark dialogue, be informed and build connections.

If you need further support processing current events, we encourage you to contact our Campus Academic & Staff Assistance Program (ASAP), which offers free, confidential resources for emotional health and access to short-term counseling, assessment and referrals. Please also note that all UC health benefits plans include behavioral health benefits.
